Voorschoolse Muziek Educatie onderzoek

De OVMEgroep - onderzoek voorschoolse muziek educatie - heeft als doel de kennis omtrent de muzikale ontwikkeling van jonge kinderen te bevorderen. Door middel van onderzoek willen wij deze kennis uitbreiden en via publicaties, lezingen en presentaties onder de aandacht brengen.

Ons hoofddoel is om met de vergaarde kennis bij te dragen aan educatieve strategieën - hoe muziek beter aan te laten sluiten bij het jonge kind en zijn mogelijkheden - om de muzikale ontwikkeling van het jonge kind te stimuleren. In dit kader willen we, ook in samenwerkingsverbanden, mogelijkheden bieden om (persoonlijke) kennis te vergroten en vaardigheden te verwerven op het gebied van onderzoek naar het jonge kind zowel in de thuissituatie als in andere educatieve settings.

De onderzoeksgroep is een onderdeel van het Voorschoolse Muziek Educatiecentrum en bouwt voort op initiatieven van de Stichting Peuters & Muziek.

Preschool Music Education research

The aim of the RPMEgroup - research preschool music education - is to promote knowledge of the musical development of young children. By means of research we want to expand this knowledge and dissiminate the results through publications, lectures and presentations. Young children and music is an interesting research field. Results hope to find their way into musical practices. In the field of practice the call for new information and underpinning of existing theory is getting stronger.

The research group is part of the Preschool Music Eduction centre and is a continuation of the Dutch Foundation for Toddlers & Music.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Preschool Music Education

Preschool Music Education (PME), also known as Music on the Lap, provides music for children from the age of 4 months to 4 years accompanied by a parent or carer, including grandparents. Courses are held not only at music schools but also in community centres. Lessons are given in larger groups at play grounds and day care centres. The aim is to motivate and stimulate the children according to their own level of possibilities and development. The goal is to let children acquire the basic skills of music by means of a programme strongly underpinned by appropriate theory. Out of motivation comes participation, participation evokes musical experiences.
